BENJAMIN KHENG

A Singapore-based director, writer, musician, and actor, Benjamin is a reformed Pop artist. He is widely recognised for his work with the Pop group The Sam Willows and his multifaceted contributions to music, film and cultural storytelling.

His career as a songwriter and performer includes over 100 million Spotify streams, a nomination for Best Southeast Asian Act at the 2020 MTV EMAs, and winning Single of the Year at the 2021 Youth Music Awards for “Better with You”. In 2024, he composed, produced, and performed the National Day Song, “Not Alone”, and recently served as the writer and director for the NDP’25 Opening Musical Film, “Makin’ Our Way”.

Beyond music, he is known for his acting, direction, and compositions in the sketch series The BENZI Project and The Ann & Ben Show, the latter of which produced the local cult hit Caifan Song. Ben’s screen work includes the biopic Wonderboy, Raindance nominee The Breakup List, International Emmy nominee FAM!, and Asia Contents Awards nominee The Last Bout. He has also appeared in stage productions with Pangdemonium and Wild Rice.

Ben serves as the co-founder and creative director of Charle King Pte Ltd, a boutique film company dedicated to the craft of whimsical and absurdist storytelling. Additionally, as a former national swimmer and fitness enthusiast, Ben collaborates with statutory boards and sport organisations to advocate for wellness and healthy living.
